The Discovery Science Study
The Discovery Science Study ran from 2011 to 2016. It was funded by the US National Institutes of Health, the NY State Office of Mental Health, and the Child Mind Institute in New York City. This was a large, collaborative initiative with Rockland, Orange, Bergen, and Westchester Counties that looked at brain-based changes across the lifespan (from ages 6-85). Over 1,000 community members participated in the study. This collaborative effort has led to over 100 scientific publications around the world. The results have shed new insights into brain-behavior relationships and the understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders. We hope that these data will continue to be used by research scientists around the world in the years to come.
