The NKI Rockland Sample Pilot Study
A small pilot study, or preliminary study, was conducted in 2010 with 250 participants from age 4 to age 89. It was used to test the design of the project so that adjustments could be made before the full study began. The pilot study helped the researchers make improvements to procedures and assessments. Its success was instrumental in obtaining the funding required for the full Rockland Sample Initiative.
